Arkansas realtors experienced a 7 percent increase in the number of homes sold statewide in June as reflected in a report distributed by the Arkansas Realtors Association Thursday.
Statewide, there has been a nearly 12 percent increase year-to-date in number of units sold compared to the same time period in 2015, with 16,370 home sold so far this year.
The average price of homes sold in the 43-county area increased by just over 6 percent in June, from $169,863 in June 2015 to $180,264 in June 2016.
Statewide valuations in June increased by more than 14 percent from last year.
The most units sold for June 2016 were in Benton County with 628 compared to 535 the same month last year. Year to date, Benton County also leads for units sold with 2,882, a more than 15 percent increase compared to 2015.
Pulaski County is not far behind with 2,787 units sold so far in 2016, a more than 16 percent increase compared to last year.
Benton County also boasts the highest average prices for the month and year. For June 2016, the average price for homes sold in Benton County was $235,081, an 11 percent increase compared to June 2015.
Year to date for 2016, the average price in Benton County is $217,391, a steep step up compared to the No. 2 Washington County at $199,827.
Statewide average prices for 2016, year to date, are $166,706, a more than 3 percent increase compared to 2015.
