Oaklawn Adds Rick Alford, Kelli Mussa to Lead Gaming, HR

Oaklawn Racing and Gaming of Hot Springs has named Rick Alford its gaming manager and Kelli Mussa its director of human resources.

Alford, a native of Biloxi, Mississippi, spent his entire 18-year gaming career prior to Oaklawn with Caesars (formerly Harrah’s) Entertainment in Tunica, Mississippi, where he was most recently director of casino operations at Harrah’s Tunica Casino and Resort. 

Before working in gaming, he worked 15 years at Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he directed a program that provided counseling to students, according to a news release.

Mussa, a native of Hawaii, began her gaming career 23 years ago when she became a dealer at one of the first casinos in Mississippi.

She held a variety of positions at several different gaming properties including table games floor supervisor and interim HR director. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
