2 min read

The University of Arkansas concluded its 2024 fiscal year with $92.3 million in new gifts and $118.8 million in cash payments on existing commitments to support students, faculty, programs and capital projects, the university announced in a news release Friday.

During the fiscal year, private gifts provided funding for the establishment of 66 new endowed funds, creating permanent funding for a variety of purposes across the Fayetteville campus.

The $92.3 million raised in fiscal year 2024 includes gifts of cash, gifts-in-kind, planned gifts and new pledges. These gifts support scholarships for students, campus and study-abroad programs, faculty and staff, research and economic development, entrepreneurship and capital projects.

In the fiscal year, donors directed $14.8 million dollars to the university’s endowment when received.

Throughout the fiscal year, donor support established 55 new student scholarships, awards and fellowships. This support aims to create more opportunities for students by reducing financial barriers and improving access to educational opportunities, which in turn impact graduation rates and improve post-graduate outcomes.

Funding support by category was:

  • 63% for student scholarships and academic programs
  • 22% for faculty and staff support
  • 8% for capital improvements
  • 7% for other key initiatives

“Our alumni and friends have played a crucial role in the U of A’s continued growth and success,” Chancellor Charles Robinson said in a press release. “The generosity of our donors enriches every aspect of the university, from ensuring that our students have the resources they need to succeed, to supporting endowed chairs that help us attract and retain outstanding faculty, to advancing innovative research that improves lives and strengthens our state and national economy.”
