Phillips-Perry to Oversee Academies of Central Arkansas (Movers & Shakers)

April Phillips-Perry has been named director of school-based learning initiatives and vice president and will be the project lead for The Academies of Central Arkansas. 

The Academies of Central Arkansas is an initiative supported by Arvest of all four school districts in Pulaski County to ensure students are college and career ready upon high school graduation.


The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund has announced two new board members: Michael O’Bryan, grants and contracts analyst for the University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute in Little Rock, and Maret Cahill Wicks, marketing manager for Arvest Bank in Conway.

The board of directors also has new leadership: Betsy Baker of the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, president; Sunshine Bartlett of Arvest Bank in Fort Smith, president-elect; Mike Weaver of Southern Bank in Jonesboro, treasurer; and Adelene McClenny of Northwest Arkansas Community College and an alumna of the SPSF program, secretary.


Trent Wunstel has been hired as the senior vice president and chief operating officer of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas in Little Rock. In his new role, Wunstel will focus on ensuring strategic leadership, operational oversight and supporting Goodwill’s mission to change lives through education, training and employment.
