Construction should start soon on boat slips for John Burkhalter’s marina-residential project in downtown Little Rock.
The Rock City Marina & Yacht Club in Little Rock remains a drawing board project along the Arkansas River, and the proposed site at the end of East Second Street awaits groundbreaking.
Ten months ago, North Little Rock businessman John Burkhalter said construction should begin in earnest during 2014.
At the time, Burkhalter submitted plans for a four-phase development that would culminate in 192 apartments, marina operations with 425 boat slips plus a floating restaurant and market.
Those plans and would-be start date are the latest in a series he has served up since buying the property for $900,000 in September 2006.
Burkhalter, the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, couldn’t be reached for comment.
