Remember Playtime Pizza, the two-story arcade in west Little Rock with more than 140 video, interactive and merchandising games, indoor go-kart track, indoor bumper cars, black-light laser tag arena, blacklight mini-golf course, mini-bowling and pizza buffet?
Playtime was cut from the list of the things to do in Little Rock back in June when the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration shut down the business at 600 Colonel Glenn Plaza Loop.
DFA claimed the entertainment venue owed more than $1.5 million in back taxes, penalties, interest, legal fees, etc.
We understand that tally was the result of a five-year effort to reach a financial understanding with David Boothe, the man behind Playtime Pizza.
The 70,420-SF facility has remained outwardly dormant for more than two months.
But there is activity behind the scenes. We’re told some deals are under consideration that could bring new life to the project as an entertainment destination or an office/call center.
When it was shut down by the state, Playtime allegedly owed more than $335,000 in back rent and property taxes. Starting monthly rent: $89,750.
