Health care is No. 2 among the public’s top three concerns as the United States nears the 2018 midterm elections, according to the latest Kaiser Health Tracking Poll. Corruption sits at the top, with jobs and the economy in third place.

And when it comes to health care, costs are the biggest issue. Most of those surveyed — 78 percent — put drug companies making too much money as a major reason for the high cost of health care. Also getting a big share of the blame were fraud and abuse in the health care system and hospitals charging too much.
The poll results were released Sept. 5 by the Kaiser Family Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on national health issues. More information can be found at KFF.org.
