Ronald McDonald House To Announce $8M Campaign for New Little Rock Property

1 min read

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas is launching an $8 million campaign to build a new house in Little Rock.

The organization has a press conference scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Thursday to announce the campaign, and a $1 million gift from McDonald’s of Central Arkansas. The announcement will take place at the corner of 10th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.

“We are excited to formally unveil the future home of Arkansas’ next Ronald McDonald House,” Katie Kirkpatrick Choate, executive director, said in a news release. “McDonald’s of Central Arkansas has chosen us as their charity of choice and they have proven their commitment to family-centered care with a generous gift of $1 million.”

The five-story house will be more than triple the size of the current Little Rock house, and add more guest rooms, and higher quality living and dining space. The house was designed by Chad Young of Wittenberg Delony & Davidson Inc., and will be constructed by Nabholz Construction Services.

Construction is slated to begin in summer 2015 and be open to families by fall 2016.

RMHCA has served more than 25,000 families in the past 34 years by providing a home away from home for families of children being treated at area hospitals, particularly Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
