Sandra Massey, the new chancellor of Arkansas State University-Newport.
Sandra Massey has been named the chancellor of Arkansas State University-Newport.
Massey had served as the vice chancellor for academic affairs at the two-year college. She succeeds Larry Williams, who retired in August, and is the school’s second chancellor.
Massey, a Jonesboro native, received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from ASU-Jonesboro and her doctor of education degree from Oklahoma State. ASU-Newport serves 2,079 students on three campuses in Newport, Marked Tree and Jonesboro.
“I’m honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” Massey said in a press release. “We have a wonderful team on all three ASU-Newport campuses. We will continue to educate students who can improve their lives while helping our region’s businesses and industries grow.”
