Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia has raised more than $780,000 to name its College of Business after retiring school president David Rankin and create an endowment in his honor, it was announced Monday.
Rankin is retiring June 30 after 47 years at the school. A fundraising goal of $1 million has been established the create an endowment for what will become the David F. Rankin College of Business.
The Rankin endowment will be one of the SAU’s largest, and a permanent donor wall recognizing all the donors to the campaign will be installed later this summer.
Proceeds from the endowment will provide scholarships, classroom enhancement funds and travel opportunities for students and student groups, the school said.
