Sediver to Double West Memphis Production Capacity

1 min read

Overhead insulation manufacturer Sediver on Tuesday announced plans to double the capacity of its manufacturing facility in West Memphis.

The expansion, which was said to be a sub-$1 million investment, aims to meet growing demand for transmission line products. It’s expected to create 25 jobs, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a news release.

Sediver, a Blackstone portfolio company based in France, opened its manufacturing plant in West Memphis in 2017. The expansion comes after Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders met with company leaders at the Paris Air Show in June.

“By manufacturing and testing power transmission line insulators locally, we bring our global expertise closer to the field, ensuring utilities can strengthen grid reliability with speed, precision, and full compliance with their standards,” Cleber Angelo, executive vice president and head of the Americas for Sediver, said in the release. “This capacity expansion investment will create local jobs, and reinforce Sediver’s mission to serve our customers with reliable, high-quality solutions made in the USA.”

The state offered the following incentives for Sediver’s expansion: the Tax Back program, which provides sales and use tax refunds on the purchase of building materials and taxable machinery, and Advantage Arkansas, which offers a state income tax credit for job creation based on the payroll of new, full-time, permanent employees hired as a result of the project.
