SemahTronix of Flippin, which makes custom cable assemblies, wiring harness and other items for the medical, defense and aerospace, commercial and industrial markets, said Thursday that it had purchased the assets and taken over operations of Actronix Inc.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Arkansas Economic Development Commission is providing a $600,000 Community Development Block Grant Loan to the company.
In addition to Flippin, SemahTronix has a manufacturing facility at the Arkansas Department of Corrections McPherson Unit in Newport. Actronix has had a presence in Flippin since 1977, including under the names LaBarge Electronics and Avnet Cable Technologies.
The two locations in Arkansas have more than 100 employees. The company said it will continue to employ everyone currently on staff and support all previous customers.
“SemahTronix is dedicated to continuing the operations at both facilities to keep jobs in Arkansas,” said Rusty Hames, the owner of SemahTronix. “We are committed to supporting both current and future customers with high quality, high customer service, and competitive pricing.”
SemahTronix’s customers include BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin.
