Seun Aiyese has been hired as head of retail at Southern Bancorp Bank of Little Rock. In his new role, Aiyese will oversee the retail operations of Southern Bancorp Bank, a community development financial institution, including branch strategies, the ATM network, customer service, branch administration, branch expansions and retail sales teams. “Seun’s leadership and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand our impact in underserved communities throughout the Mid-South and beyond,” John T. Olaimey, president of Southern Bancorp Bank, said in a news release.
Aiyese brings more than two decades of experience in financial retail leadership to his new position. Most recently, he was the chief operating officer of First City Credit Union of Los Angeles, and before that was the head of retail banking at Affinity Federal Credit Union of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He has also served as the senior vice president, head of branch network and member experience at Geico Federal Credit Union. Aiyese has also served in several roles at Wachovia/Wells Fargo & Co.
Aiyese received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Metro State University of Denver. He earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Bethel University of St. Paul, Minnesota. He has completed several executive education programs, including courses at Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in England, Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in Ithaca, New York, and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in Charlottesville.
