Veterinary Medicine
Brian Barron, a doctor of veterinary medicine, is the new owner of Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic at 304 N. Shackleford Road in Little Rock. Barron has practiced at the clinic since May 2008. He earned his DVM at Louisiana State University and practiced in Bastrop, Louisiana, for a year before coming to Little Rock. The clinic’s former owner, veterinarian Earl F. Smith, remains in practice at the clinic. He has practiced in the Little Rock area since 1972. Veterinarian Matthew Charney, who has practiced as a veterinarian in Lafayette, Indiana, for three years, recently joined Shackleford Road Veterinary Clinic. Catherine Barron, formerly a small-business consultant at Paychex in Little Rock, has joined the clinic as practice manager.
Education
David Skelton, director of Harding University’s Profes-sional Center in northwest Arkansas, has been appointed as executive director of the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Education. Skelton has been with Harding for five years. He has been active in AAMLE and the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Administrators for several years.
Susan Grogan, assistant professor and director of adult/extended education at Harding University in Searcy, was named a board member of the Arkansas Association of Teacher Educators.
Joseph Lampo has been named director of development of the College of Arts, Letters & Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Cathy Dicus has been promoted to director of information management and prospect research in the UALR Office of Alumni & Development. Kevin Rushing has joined the Office of Alumni & Development as a systems specialist. Lampo previously served as the independent curator and consultant in the arts at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and was deputy director of programs and curator at the Arkansas Arts Center from 2004-12 and its interim director in 2010-2011. Dicus most recently served as a senior research associate for the Office of Alumni & Development. Rushing, a 2013 graduate of UALR, was owner and developer of Momentum Games LLC.
Health Care
Dr. German Kamalov, a cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in heart rhythm irregularities, has joined Sparks Health System in Fort Smith. Kamalov completed an electrophysiology fellowship at Ohio State University in Columbus. He is board-certified in both cardiology and internal medicine.
Nonprofits
Beth Ingram and Scotty Shively have been elected to the board of directors of Arkansas Hospice in North Little Rock. Kimberly Pruitt has been elected to the board of directors of the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, also in North Little Rock.
Real Estate
Troy Langford has joined Haag Brown Commercial of Jonesboro, where he will continue his career in commercial real estate brokering, management and development. Langford’s father, Mike Langford, with whom Troy Langford has previously worked on development projects, will also be licensed with Haag Brown. Mike Langford has been involved in commercial real estate development and property management with family-owned Lamco and L&L Land Co. for more than 19 years.
