You’re in Hot Water

Hot Springs is the spa city, where relaxation opportunities abound. Enjoy the natural hot springs at bathhouses in Hot Springs National Park, like the Buckstaff Bathhouse, Quapaw Bathhouse, Hotel Hale or the Arlington Thermal Water Spa. Visit the other sites along Bathhouse Row like the Ozark Bathhouse, Maurice Bathhouse, a brewery at the Superior Bathhouse, the city’s visitor’s center at the Fordyce Bathhouse and the Bathhouse Emporium in the Lamar Bathhouse. For those of a more genteel disposition, horse racing at Oaklawn runs from December through May.

Festival City

El Dorado calls itself the Festival City of the South, and for good reason — with monthly festivals highlighting local history, food, music, Hispanic and Black culture, and the downtown Murphy Arts District’s regular concerts and events, it’s a “booming” town, not just Arkansas’ Original Boomtown. The Murphy Arts District — called MAD locally — encompasses several city blocks and includes three distinct venues: the First Financial Music Hall, an indoor concert and event hall; the MAD Amp, an outdoor amphitheater; and the MAD House 101 Restaurant & Bar, with a live performance stage.
