Arts Center of the Ozarks Names Kathleen Trotter Executive Director

1 min read

The Arts Center of the Ozarks’ board on Tuesday announced the hiring of Kathleen Trotter as executive director of the Springdale nonprofit.

Trotter steered the 2016 strategic development process that resulted in the center’s new mission and vision. She also facilitated the transition to a new board and organizational structure, while Jenni Swain initiated new programming and operational practices as interim executive and artistic director.

In April, Trotter became director of operations so that Swain could concentrate on developing the new season.

Trotter said in a news release, “We are on target with our goals. The purpose of the transition was to re-imagine the arts in Springdale to become a catalyst for a thriving community.”

She has held several executive director roles and owned a consulting firm serving nonprofit education centers.

Trotter also said in the release, “While we must develop sustainable business practices, the life of the ACO is in its people — the artists and arts organizations who are given voice; the audience members who are entertained; the kids who discover new ways to express themselves; the new traditions introduced through festivals; the patrons and sponsors who understand the value of this creative energy in the community. My highest priority is for us to build relationships that enable all of us to grow together — socially, culturally and economically. That is what it will take for us to really thrive.”
