A banking executive in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, paid more than $1 million for the former home of a University of Arkansas assistant football coach.

Scott Spencer and his wife, Gale, paid $1.2 million for a custom-made 2019 home on Shady Lane, a few blocks north of Wilson Park in Fayetteville. The four-bed, four-bath house is 3,184 SF and has a fireplace, three-car garage and hardwood floors.

Spencer is the CEO of Sterling Bank, which is predominantly active in Missouri but has recently expanded to Arkansas with branches in Fayetteville and Rogers and plans to enter Bentonville and Little Rock.

The sellers were Cody Kennedy and his wife, Lauren, who bought the home for $995,000 in 2022. Cody Kennedy coached the Razorbacks’ offensive line for three years before leaving to take the same position at Mississippi State in December.
