The Computer Hut, UrbanLAN Merge

2 min read

Northwest Arkansas’ UrbanLAN, an information technology services provider, said it has merged with The Computer Hut of Little Rock.

The merger went into effect Aug. 1. The combined firm will operate under The Computer Hut name. UrbanLAN founder and President John Pruett will join The Computer Hut’s team while maintaining a presence in northwest Arkansas.

“John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company and we have already seen significant success in working with John to expand our presence in northwest Arkansas,” Chris Bates, The Computer Hut’s president and CEO, said in a news release. “Our clients stay with us because of our high level of responsiveness and our ability to quickly and thoroughly address their IT needs, and John echoes that completely. His team and ours have integrated seamlessly.”

With the merger, The Computer Hut gains more clients in the consumer packaged goods, health care and construction industries in northwest Arkansas.

The expanded firm delivers more services for network and server administration, mobile device management and desktop support across operating systems. UrbanLAN also brings The Computer Hut capabilities in mobile application analytics and development.

“UrbanLAN and The Computer Hut have worked together with several clients over the years,” Pruett said in a news release. “The more I got to know Chris and his team, and the more our clients looked for a greater scope of services, especially in the mobile environment, the more it made sense for us to integrate our firms under one name and solution set. This has been an educational integration and a great team to join.”

The Computer Hut was founded in 1992. The IT services firm has locations in Little Rock and Lowell.
