1 min read

Three projects in Fayetteville have received 2020 American Architecture Awards.

The awards are presented by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture & Design, the European Centre for Architecture Art Design & Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press.

The 120 award winners were chosen from submissions by architecture firms across the United States and include corporate, institutional, commercial, residential architecture, interiors and urban planning projects designed or built since Jan. 1, 2019.

The Fayetteville projects recognized were:

  • TheatreSquared, a 50,000-SF performing arts center by Marvel Architects of New York and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The $25 million project was No. 18 on Arkansas Business’ 2018 list of the state’s largest commercial projects.

  • New Beginnings Homeless Transition Village Prototype by the University of Arkansas Community Design Center. This is a transitional housing community for homeless singles making insufficient wages and lacking access to affordable housing, according to the center’s website.

  • 7Hills Day Center Complex, also by the University of Arkansas Community Design Center. The day center is an anchor component in a community-wide ecosystem of service providers offering overnight shelter, transitional and permanent housing and meal service, according to the center’s website.
