Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin has joined Purple Strategies of Washington, D.C., as a senior adviser for communications and growth strategies.
Purple Strategies operates a government affairs and lobbying subsidiary called Purple Advocacy. Griffin’s employment will be limited to Purple Strategies, and will be based in Little Rock. He will have no employment or agency relationship with Purple Advocacy, and will not engage in lobbying at the state or federal level.
“[Griffin’s] broad experience, strategic thinking and insights, and remarkable record of accomplishment will be an asset to our clients as they work to prosper and create American jobs,” Alex Castellanos, chairman of Purple Strategies, said in a news release.
Griffin was elected lieutenant governor in November, and was sworn into office last week. Prior, he served Arkansas’ Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He’s served 18 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, including a deployment to Iraq, and holds the rank of Lt. Col.
During the Bush administration, Griffin was special assistant to the president and deputy director of political affairs.
“I look forward to using my background and experience to help companies solve complex problems, grow and compete,” Griffin said in the release.
