Tenenbaum Recycling Group’s new scrap metal recycling plant at 3459 N. Arkansas St., in northeast Rogers will mark its grand opening Friday and Saturday.
TRG’s sixth recycling center is located across U.S. Highway 62 from Rogers Municipal Airport-Carter Field.
The center was originally scheduled for a July opening but opened in September instead. TRG Rogers LLC will employ about 75 people.
TRG Rogers buys scrap metal, such as car bodies, appliances, aluminum beverage containers, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel.
"We are proud to be a part of the northwest Arkansas business community, and know that we can provide a much needed service for both the public as well as for manufacturing companies in the area who generate scrap metal," Jack Grundfest, TRG president and CEO, said.
"Having a facility in northwest Arkansas furthers our objective of serving the major markets throughout the state."
In all, TRG has about 250 employees and operates recycling centers in North Little Rock, Harrison, Jonesboro, Hot Springs, Berryville and Rogers. The company has dealers and suppliers throughout the mid-south and owns more than 1,000 scrap trailers and roll-off boxes.
TRG has been recycling scrap metal since 1890 and is among the oldest companies in Arkansas.
TRG is a subsidiary of A. Tenenbaum Co. of North Little Rock, which ranked No. 37 on Arkansas Business’ most recent list of the state largest private companies with 2010 revenue of $250 million.
