Deborah Baldwin
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock announced Monday that Deborah Baldwin, associate provost of collections and archives and director of the Center for Arkansas History & Culture, will be its interim provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs for the Spring 2017 semester.
She will replace UALR Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and Provost Zulma Toro, who accepted a new post in October and will start as president of Central Connecticut State University on Jan. 3.
The university will conduct a search for a permanent provost. His or her anticipated start date is July 1.
Baldwin served as dean of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences for nearly 20 years and as chair of the Department of History for six years. She holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Chicago.
