UCA Chief of Staff Leaving For New, Old Post

1 min read

Kelley Erstine, chief of staff and vice president of university relations for the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, is leaving that post, effective Aug. 15.

Erstine has been hired by Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas, to serve as the professional trade association’s CEO, a position he’s held before.

He was named UCA’s chief of staff in 2014. From 2008-2014, the UCA alumnus was CEO at Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina. Before that, he served as CEO of the Arkansas chapter for eight years.

Erstine graduated from UCA in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He was later appointed to the UCA Board of Trustees, serving from 2000 to 2004.

Following his status on the board, Erstine became vice president for institutional advancement in 2004 and served in that position until 2008.

“He will continue to carry out his current responsibilities until his final day at UCA in August. While I congratulate Kelley on this opportunity, he will be greatly missed here. He loves this university and has served it well on several occasions,” UCA President Houston Davis wrote in an email to the faculty and staff about Erstine’s departure. “I will begin consideration in the coming weeks of next steps to fill this important role on my leadership team, but for now I am going to be excited for my colleague and friend.”
