U.S. Pizza Goes WestLock Icon

2 min read

If all goes according to plan, diners in the “Chenal area” of Little Rock will be able to satisfy their craving for U.S. Pizza a little more conveniently.

Mark and Paula Lukas are new members of the U.S. Pizza franchise family and hope to have their location open by October or November 2019.

Mark Lukas has been an employee of the company for 10 years, said Drew Weber, chief operating officer of the homegrown chain.

The Lukases’ restaurant will bring U.S. Pizza’s franchise stores up to seven; the chain has 10 corporate sites.

Mark Lukas told Whispers that he couldn’t yet divulge an address but he hoped to have that firmed up by mid-November.

Why open now?

“Just for a better opportunity for myself and my family,” Lukas said. “I’m proud of what I’ve done. I’m proud to say that I’ve been part of the U.S. Pizza family for so many years. I was born in North Little Rock very close to where the original one was, and I remember eating there as a young kid, so it’s a lot of pride. I take a lot of pride in being a part of U.S. Pizza and want to bring that same thin-crust pizza out to west Little Rock.”

Weber says a store is scheduled to open in Springdale in March, and he expects the remodel of the Sherwood location to be finished in May or June.
