USA Truck Adds Retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Barbara Faulkenberry to Board

1 min read

USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren appointed retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Barbara Faulkenberry to its board of directors Wednesday.

Faulkenberry retired from military service in 2014 as the vice commander of the 18th Air Force at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois where she oversaw the command’s global mission. She served in various leadership positions with the Air Force, including director of mobility forces for the U.S. Central Command in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“We are honored to welcome Gen. Faulkenberry to our board,” said Bob Peiser, USA Truck’s chairman. “Her military accomplishments are substantial and we believe her vast experience with the operations of large and complex organizations and their people during critical missions will be a great asset to USA Truck as we work to enhance the operational effectiveness of USA Truck’s trucking business and grow our asset-light business.”

Faulkenberry, who graduated from the Air Force Academy with a degree in operational research, will effectively replace Richard Beauchamp on the board. Faulkenberry was appointed as a Class I director, meaning her term will expire in 2017, while Beauchamp announced he will not stand for reelection as a Class III director when his term expires this spring.

The USA Truck board will have eight directors after Beauchamp steps down: Faulkenberry, William Hanna and James Simpson III as Class I directors; Gary Enzor and Tom Glaser as Class II directors, whose terms expire in 2018; and Peiser, Robert Creager and Alexander Greene as Class III directors.
