USA Truck Hires Hainlen as Revenue Chief

1 min read

USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren hired Rick Hainlen as its vice president of revenue operations.

Hainlen joins USA Truck from Red Classic Transportation Services of Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was director of yield management and network optimization. Red Classic is the transportation subsidiary of Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

Hainlen is no stranger to USA Truck or the Arkansas market. He worked for USA Truck in 2012-13 and for PAM Transport Services Inc. of Tontitown in 2010-12.

Hainlen worked two years at Interstate Distributor Co. of Tacoma, Washington while James Reed was the CFO. Reed is now USA Truck’s CEO and president. Hainlen is the latest addition to USA Truck’s leadership team after the recent hires that include Jason Bates as CFO, Werner Hugo as vice president of trucking operations, Kim Littlejohn as chief technology officer and Cheryl Stone as vice president of human resources.

“With all respect to the incredible talent we’ve added to our leadership team in the past 60 days, Rick may be the most significant addition we’ve made,” Reed said. “He is widely recognized as one of the most talented and experienced pricing leader in the truckload sector.”

In May, USA Truck reported a first-quarter loss of $4.9 million, its fifth consecutive losing quarter. The company reported a loss of $7.7 million in fiscal year 2016, but Reed has said he expects USA Truck to return to profitability by the second half of 2017.
