USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren on Tuesday said it has rebranded and renamed its asset-light logistics business, formerly known as Strategic Capacity Solutions, to USAT Logistics.
In a news release, the publicly traded trucking and logistics company said the name change and new logo “are the first steps in USA Truck’s strategy to more fully realize the value of its asset-light business.”
“Complementing our asset-based Trucking business with robust third-party logistics capabilities gives us a unique position in the marketplace that will enhance our customers’ overall experience,” CEO Randy Rogers said. “USA Truck has been an asset-based truckload carrier for over 30 years. That real-world experience gives our organization an understanding of the issues and concerns our customers deal with every day in moving their freight. USAT Logistics represents an evolution of our brand and our business.”
USAT Logistics provides a variety of freight transportation services to clients throughout North America, managing customer and carrier relationships through 10 regional centers. USA Truck said the division accounted for 30 percent of the company’s operating revenue last year.
USA Truck rebranded itself as a capacity solutions company under the leadership of its former CEO, John Simone, and it has said it wants to boosts its profile in logistics through its asset-light logistics division. In February, the division reported fourth-quarter revenue of $37.7 million, down 14 percent from $43.8 million in 2014 and annual revenue of $153.5 million, down 14 percent from $178.9 million the year before.
USA Truck said it will unveiled a new website for the division, at USATLogistics.com, in June.
