Verizon announced on Monday that its next-generation network, called Verizon LTE Advanced, is now available in Little Rock and 460 other cities, including some in Arkansas, at no additional cost.
The company said the new network offers peak speeds that are 50 percent faster to customers that own one of 39 capable phones or tablets. Most new devices from major manufacturers will be LTE Advanced-capable, according to a news release.
The network that covers 90 percent of the U.S. population uses software that combines multiple channels to move data more quickly, Verizon said.
