A Little Rock business promoting black entrepreneurship is planning a live hourlong virtual shopping platform every Friday evening, giving African-American fashion designers, artists, makers and vendors a chance to sell their works.
ReMix Ideas LLC, which bills itself as an “entrepreneurial ecosystem builder,” will present the program, “Shop Black Live,” at 7 p.m. every Friday on ReMix’s Facebook page.
“We offer a marketplace where people can shop safely and from home for quality products at affordable prices,” said Benito Lubazibwa, ReMix’s CEO and the man behind “Shop Black Live.”
He noted the LLC’s other projects, including Arkansas’ Africa Day Fest, the popular Little Rock Night Market, and recent COVID-19 virtual music concerts and pop-up crowdfunding. “We are building runways for black entrepreneurs to thrive during this crisis and beyond.”
The first “Shop Black Live” is set for this evening, June 12. The Facebook address is www.facebook.com/RemixideasLR.
Lubazibwa said his company decided to start the shopping program in light of ongoing inequities that black entrepreneurs are experiencing due to systemic racism.
