Windstream Holdings Inc. of Little Rock announced Tuesday that it has acquired Mass Communications of New York in a $37.5 million all-cash transaction.
Mass Communications is a telecommunications network management company that works for small to mid-sized global companes in the financial, legal, health care, technology, education and government sectors, providing custom-engineered voice, data and networking services.
“This acquisition adds a well-run company with a customer-first mindset and an impressive track record of growing revenue to Windstream,” Layne Levine, president of Windstream’s Enterprise & Wholesale unit, said in a news release.
Levine said Mass Communications customers will have access to Windstream Enterprise’s suite of networking and cloud services.
Windstream also announced that Mass Communications CEO Darren Mass has been named president of resale for Windstream’s Enterprise & Wholesale unit.
The move is the latest in a string of acquistions for the publicly traded company (NYSE: WIN). Windstream CEO Tony Thomas told Arkansas Business in November that the company would continue to be opportunistic about acquisitions.
Windstream closed on its $227.5 million all-cash acquisition of Broadview Networks Holdings Inc. in July and closed on its $1.1 billion all-stock acquisition of Earthlink Holdings Corp. in February 2017.
