Wright’s Barbecue announced plans to open a new location in Benton, which would be its fifth restaurant in Arkansas.
The restaurant posted on X, formerly Twitter, “We are moving ever closer to Saline County! Permits pulled! Benton here we come!”
The restaurant is targeting a spring opening. It will be located at a former Applebee’s at the corner of 17348 I-30 and, fittingly, Wright Avenue, The Saline Courier reported.
Wright’s is known for its wood-smoked, Texas-style barbecue. Founder and owner Jordan Wright of Fayetteville launched the business from a food struck in northwest Arkansas in 2016. He opened his first brick-and-mortar location in Johnson in 2017.
The second location opened in downtown Bentonville in 2020, and. Wright’s third location opened in Rogers in 2022.
Wright’s Little Rock location marked its two-year anniversary in September.
Wright’s has also eyed Conway and Fort Smith for new locations.
Wright was named a semifinalist for the James Beard Award’s Best Chef: South category in 2025. The previous year, the restaurant ranked No. 1 in Yelp’s 2024 rankings of the top 100 barbecue restaurants in the U.S.
