Wright’s Barbecue To Open New Location in West Little RockLock Icon

A second Wright’s Barbecue is coming to Little Rock, this one at 800 Rahling Road near the Promenade at Chenal.

Jordan Wright, founder and CEO, tells Whispers he doesn’t yet have a construction timeline for the building, which will be about 5,000 SF and has a declared value of $4.5 million.

The first Wright’s Barbecue to open in Little Rock is at 1311 Rebsamen Park Road in the Riverdale neighborhood. Once it opens, the west Little Rock Wright’s will be No. 7 in the popular chain, which opened its first brick-and-mortar location in 2017 in Johnson in northwest Arkansas.

Wright said he’s hoping to open Wright’s Barbecue No. 6 in Benton sometime in June.

Business, he said, has been “really good” at all the stores, minus the Johnson location, which was closed for four months last year for a remodel that included a new dining room, smokehouse and parking lot.

The permit application for the west Little Rock Wright’s indicates it will have an exterior smokehouse and covered exterior seating.

Boen Kemp Construction of Fayetteville is the contractor for the project.

Wright noted that the restaurant chain earlier this month opened store No. 5, a 4,000-SF space, at the new Walmart corporate campus in Bentonville.

There could be more locations, Wright said. “We just want to keep opening up more opportunities for people to gather, … eat great barbecue and serve great hospitality.”

He added: “We’re super excited to come to west Little Rock. It’s where I grew up. My parents live near there. We’re pumped to be able to serve all the families and businesses that are out there.”
