Peoples Bank of Sheridan said Wednesday that it will open a branch office in Benton, and it has hired Chris Diaz as Benton market president and Don Tackett as executive vice president of lending.
“Peoples Bank is delighted to be expanding our services with an all-star team and a highly visible and convenient bank office in Benton,” Craig Manatt, Peoples Bank president and CEO, said in a news release. “As a true community bank, we believe our values, relationship-based banking philosophy and local decision making will be welcomed by businesses and families that call Benton home.”
The Benton office, at 1800 Military Road, will feature a full-service 5,300-SF branch with a lobby, six offices, safe deposit boxes, three drive-through lanes, a 24-hour ATM, night deposit and parking.
Diaz has 12 years of banking experience and joins Peoples Bank from First Security Bank in Benton where he was a commercial lender. In 2020, Arkansas Business named him to its 20 in their Twenties class of young business leaders in Arkansas.
Tackett has more than 40 years of banking experience, including serving as bank president for 20 years in Benton, Malvern, Sheridan and Hot Springs.
The Benton office, which will be Peoples’ third banking office, is expected to open by late summer. The bank reported $207.3 million in assets as of Dec. 31.
