7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee of Fayetteville announced it has hired Matthew Dunnigan as chief financial officer.
Dunnigan joins 7 Brew from publicly traded Restaurant Brands International Inc. of Toronto, where he held the same title. In that role, he helped lead the Canadian multinational’s strategic growth, capital allocation and integration of four fast-food restaurant brands.
Dunnigan joins 7 Brew as the company looks to continue its rapid expansion. Founded in 2017, the chain recently marked the opening of its 500th location. The company recently agreed to a 100-store development deal with private investment firm WJ Partners of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and a separate 160-store deal with franchise operator Flynn Group LP of San Francisco.
“As that positive momentum continues, we’re excited to welcome Matt to the team to provide invaluable leadership and strategic counsel as we surge forward and bring the 7 Brew experience to many more markets around the world,” Chris Dawson, president of 7 Brew, said in a news release.
7 Brew’s profit soared to $18.4 million in 2024, up from $1.6 million in 2023 and a loss of $2.6 million in 2022, industry publication QSR magazine reported. Revenue in 2024 was said to be $43.5 million, up from $15.4 million the previous year.
“After a decade evaluating and building several leading restaurant brands, 7 Brew’s growth potential and franchisee returns stand out as among the most compelling I’ve seen,” Dunnigan said in a statement.
