Randeep Mann Lawsuit Against Dallas County Thrown Out

1 min read

It didn’t take long for Randeep Mann, the disgraced former doctor who is serving life in federal prison, to have his lawsuit against the Dallas County jail in Fordyce thrown out.

U.S. District Court Judge Brian Miller tossed the suit because Mann didn’t pay the filing fee or file an application to have the cost waived.

Mann, acting as his own lawyer, alleged he didn’t receive proper medical attention while he was in the county jail. Mann’s complaint is sorely lacking in details, but we presume this was while he was awaiting trial for the 2009 car bomb that gravely injured Dr. Trent Pierce of West Memphis, then chairman of the State Medical Board.

“Despite my having extensive medical issues there was no comprehensive evaluation of my complaints, my prior medical records were not sought or obtained from my medical providers,” Mann said in his papers.

He also charged he wasn’t given his medication.

“Withdrawl [sic] symptoms that I suffered from the sudden and abrupt cessation of opiates and benzodiazepines were ignored, leaving me to deal with and suffer the consequences as I suffered a resurgence of pain, spasms and discomfort,” Mann said.

This was one of 35 lawsuits Mann filed in federal courts in several states since November. Most of the cases have been dismissed.

Mann was convicted in 2010.
