Simmons First Foundation of Pine Bluff announced Tuesday that Shannon Morgan will lead the nonprofit as executive director.

In her new role, Morgan will guide foundation employees, strategy, policies and procedures.

She previously served as grant coordinator, navigating the grant process across Simmons Bank’s six-state footprint. Prior to joining Simmons First Foundation, Morgan spent 25 years in the financial industry at Simmons Bank.

The Simmons First Foundation aims to support youth access to health care and education, as well as aid low-to-moderate-income families throughout the bank’s six-state footprint. The foundation has contributed about $4 million to communities in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

“Shannon brings a wealth of experience and passion to Simmons First Foundation, which will be leveraged to even greater effect in her new role,” said Tommy May, chairman of the Simmons First Foundation. “Her passion for building relationships within the communities we support make Shannon a great fit to lead our team.”

Morgan currently serves as vice president of the Jefferson County Young Professionals Network. She’s a past president and current board member of the Pine Bluff Festival Association and is a decade-long board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County.

Morgan is a graduate of Southeast Arkansas College in Pine Bluff.
