KTHV-TV, Channel 11, in Little Rock has a new president and general manager.
Station owner Gannett Co. announced Friday that Michael Caplan, previously group leader for Media General’s multimedia work in TV, print and on the Web at Florence, S.C., will replace the Little Rock station’s most recent president and general manager, Larry Audas.
Caplan worked for the past nine years in Florence for Media General. He will begin his new role during the week of Sept. 5.
David Craft, vice president/marketing and promotions at KTHV, as well as acting general manager while Audas’ replacement was being sought, said Gannett corporate trusts the management in Little Rock and was not in a tremendous hurry to fill the job.
"I think it was just a matter of finding the right person, the right match for the place," Craft said. "What [Caplan] brings to the job is a vast knowledge of multimedia."
Audas left KTHV in April, taking a job as president and general manager of Gannett’s WFMY-TV in Greensboro, N.C.
